Shropshire NHS Audiology
Shropshire NHS Audiology has an unparalleled reputation for quality audiology services. It is the only audiology service provider in Shropshire to be accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), which recognises quality for commissioners, providers and users of services with patient quality outcomes at its core.
Signal: The Hub hosts Shropshire NHS Audiology three days a week for appointment only services, including assessments, follow-ups and repairs. We work closely with this hospital department on tinnitus support groups in Shrewsbury and Telford, as well as on a project allowing people to try out the latest streamer devices. Shropshire Rural Communities Charity – Hearing Loss Support
Shropshire Rural Communities Charity is an independent charity established over 50 years ago to benefit people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. It is one of 38 Rural Community Councils operating throughout England funded by the government, local authorities, charitable trusts, public donations and membership subscriptions.
It aims to improve quality of life and to strengthen communities in the county. The organisation has a strong local track record with funders for delivering a wide range of quality services and projects to local people. It is supported in its delivery through strong links and partnerships with the private sector and local businesses.
Hearing Loss Support volunteers provide information, advice and practical support to hearing aid users in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. Its volunteers are trained by Shropshire NHS Audiology and, as most of them are hearing aid wearers themselves, they know from personal experience about adjusting to a hearing impairment.
